Booster Juice: Business in a Blender (Summary)


The founders of Booster Juice, Dale Wishewan and Jon Amack were both engineering majors that saw an opportunity in the juice and smoothie bar business. In 1999, they saw a growth in this particular market segment in the United States and realized it was only a matter of time until it popped open its lid in Canada (Guffey, Rhodes & Rogin, 2011, p.175). This company is committed to quality over profit and this is one of their most important beliefs. Wishewan and Amack believed a best way to grow a business are to focus on quality which something that lacking in US stores. Booster Juice prides itself on giving its customers and staff a fun and enthusiastic vibe to make healthy selections in powering their bodies. Currently, the juice and smoothie segment of the market is growing an annual rate 30% compared to the fast food sector which is growing at a rate of 3%. Booster Juice in Canada especially, is one of the fastest growing franchise businesses (Guffey, Rhodes & Rogin, 2011,p.186).
My Opinion
A healthy diet is ideal for an individual who trying to live a healthy and fitness lifestyle. There are many different types of foods and beverage to choose from such as diet trends to tropical smoothies. Many beverages claim to provide a healthy boost either before or after workout. We believed that Booster Juice is one of them because Booster Juice has a healthy selection choice of a beverages that can help support a healthy living lifestyle. It provides great energy and a healthy alternative. Would you prefer Booster Juice smoothies to someone who is trying to adapt a healthy lifestyle? Why would you recommend it? Have you ever tried a smoothie from Booster Juice? If so, what kind?
